Nickelodeon launched December 1st, 1977 as pinwheel and is a popular cable television channel based in the USA. Warner Cable owned the the company until 1986, then Viacom took over. Its sister channels are Nick Jr, Nicktoons, Teennick, TV Land, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Spike, and Logo.
